August 2009 - Ferguson Group Growth in Australasia E-mail

The Ferguson Group, leading international suppliers of offshore accommodation and containers has announced significant growth in Australasia as part of its international expansion strategy.

The UK headquartered Group is currently mid way through a AU$125million investment into its international container and module fleets. Significant funding has gone into developing and strengthening international operations, including in Australasia, with high levels of new business secured from new and existing clients as a result for the Group’s Ferguson Modular and Ferguson Seacabs divisions.

Ferguson Group established its Australian subsidiary Ferguson Seacabs Pty Ltd in Perth in January 2007 and it rapidly became established as a market leader. The Group’s Modular division is also expanding in South East Asia, with the recent arrival of a number of freezer and workspace modules in the region.

Recent investments have included:

  • The launch of a new division offering fully flexible accommodation barges in a first for the offshore industry
  • Creating the largest fleet of DNV 2.7-1 certified offshore containers available in South East Asia with over 2,500 units available with equipment now located in Perth Western Australia, Dampier North West Australia, Darwin Northern Territory, Geelong and Barry Beach Victoria, and New Plymouth New Zealand.
  • The launch of Ferguson Seacabs Pte Ltd in Singapore, driving growth for both the Seacabs and Modular fleets in the region.

General Manager Carol Pearce said: “Despite the challenging conditions facing the global market, we have continued to expand our international fleets and have invested significantly in our operations in Asia-Pacific. We have a reputation for providing the best products available in the world, along with outstanding customer service. Our approach is being rewarded as our clients keep coming back to us.’’

Group Managing Director Steven Ferguson added “We are committed to continuing to develop opportunities to expand our services. Launching a new business division offering accommodation barges is probably our biggest step in that process in our three-year plan. Over the next 18 months we will make additional investments in our divisions to consolidate our strengths in the oil & gas industry and explore the potential of the growing renewables sector.’’

The Ferguson Group employs more than 130 people worldwide through its divisions serving the offshore container rental and accommodation modules markets. The Group, based at Inverurie, Scotland, has operations in all major global oil and gas locations to ensure the best service for its customers.
