Ferguson Modular has played an active role in Aberdeenshire since the business was established in 1976.  The area has provided us with a loyal workforce and the space to develop excellent manufacturing facilities and we aim to ensure we continue to give something back to the local community, not only in terms of employment but also in the form of supporting local projects and sports events.

Go Team Modular!Ferguson Teams Make a Splash!
The 31st of March saw Ferguson Modular Ltd & Ferguson Seacabs Ltd each entering a team of eight into the Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland White Water Rafting Challenge.

Joined by seven other groups, the two teams raced across a 5 mile stretch of the icy River Tay then navigated the rapids. The Ferguson Modular team took third place with a time of 51 minutes 36 seconds, and the Ferguson Seacabs team took seventh place with a time of 54 minutes 7 seconds.

Go Team Seacabs!The Ferguson teams raised a total of £2,000 for the charity and a great (but wet) time was had by all! Many thanks to everyone who sponsored us. Over the course of two weekends, 91 teams raised £109,000 for the charity.

 

 

 

 

Going for goldNeil is Going for Gold!
Ferguson Modular were delighted to make a donation to sprinter Neil Fachie of Aberdeen who is training to compete in the Paralympic Games in Beijing in 2008, where he hopes to achieve gold and break the world record in the 100m sprint. Neil is 22 and is registered as partially sighted with a degenerative eye condition known as Retinitis Pigmentosa. In addition to graduating with Honours from Aberdeen University having completed a physics degree, Neil has achieved the title of Aberdeen Athletic Club Senior Sprint Champion and features in the top 20 all time best 100m performers for the club. We wish Neil every success in his training and competing. Ferguson Modular has renewed their sponsorship of Garioch Rugby Club under 8’s, supplying them with new rugby balls for practice and games. Gary Wilson, Divisional Manager – Module Hire (spot him in this picture!) said “Physical exercise is very important for youngsters today, and rugby is a great team sport. Ferguson Modular is delighted to support Garioch RC in its good work and we wish the club all the best for the season”.

 

Bierfest 2006Bierfest 2006
Employees and clients of Ferguson Seacabs & Ferguson Modular recently attended the first annual Highland Bierfest. The event saw Aberdeen’s Beach Ballroom transformed into an authentic Bavarian Bier Hall, decorated with streamers, flags and bars and complete with live acts such as the traditional Oompah Band and Bavarian dancing girls. A fantastic time was had by all, and places have already been reserved for next year!



 

Annual golf dayFerguson Modular Annual Golf Day
The annual Ferguson Modular golf day was held at Meldrum House Golf Club on Friday 11th August 2006.  The winner on the day was Ken Mack of Ensco while second and third places went to Chris Davies of Halliburton and Craig Fraser of Qserv.  Congratulations to all of the winners and thank you to everyone who took part and made it a fun afternoon.  We look forward to seeing you next year! 



IADC golfIADC Golf Tournament
Mike Melville, Graeme Bisset, Tony Nolan and Lee Gilmour made up the Ferguson Modular team who took part in the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) golf tournament.  The competition was held at Banchory Golf Club and Ferguson Modular, an associate member of IADC, were pleased to donate a prize for the longest drive award.

 

It's a Knockout!It’s a Knockout for Ferguson
And here come Team Ferguson... The Modular Division based at Inverurie entered a team into the annual “It’s a Knockout” event at Duthie Park on Sunday, May 7th. The day was organised to raise money for Epilepsy Action and over £18,000 was raised by all the teams that entered.

Ferguson came a credible second of 11 teams in their heat. Gary Lindsay, Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator said “It was a fantastic day and everyone involved had a great time. A lot of money was also raised by local companies for an excellent cause and due to the success of the event we hope to have a presence again next year.”

AIFF Sponsors DinnerFerguson attend AIFF Sponsors Dinner
During March Ferguson Modular attended a sponsor’s dinner at the Marcliffe at Pitfodels with guests in aid of the Aberdeen International Football Festival (AIFF). The prestigious annual event is held to raise money for awareness of the festival. Each year the AIFF invites many teams of children from less fortunate areas to compete against foreign national teams on the international stage.

The Ferguson Group is only too happy to support this initiative which also gave us an opportunity to spend an enjoyable evening with some of our guests. Celebrity guest speakers included ex Scotland Manager, Craig Brown and Bill Copeland. An excellent evening was had by all.

IDAC Safety Awards CeremonyIADC Safety Awards Ceremony and Dinner
When the IADC North Sea Chapter held its annual Safety Awards Ceremony and Dinner on Friday, 12th May at the Ardoe House Hotel Ferguson Modular, an associated member, attended with guests and clients.

The annual event marks an evening where the Drilling Contractors are recognised for their achievements in safety offshore. The ceremony was hosted by Doug Halkett of Transocean and guest speakers included John Mogford, Safety & Operations (HSE) BP and television personality Quentin Wilson of Top Gear fame.

Graeme Bissett, Module Hire Manager comments “We had an excellent evening with our guests thoroughly enjoying themselves. One highlight was a visit from Quentin to our table to pose for some photographs and give us some tips on what cars we should be driving…”

The team with James CosmoFerguson Modular provides film set for ‘cosmic’ day
The Group’s Inverurie facility was turned into a film set for the day during the making of a new feature length Scottish production called ‘The Clan.’ The film’s main star – James Cosmo of Braveheart, Troy and television series Roughnecks fame – was on location filming scenes in Ferguson’s Manufacturing headquarters.

With the movie being shot in a number of local Scottish locations Ferguson Modular was happy to support Aberdeen based director Lee Hutcheon on his latest project.

Ferguson Modular was a sponsor of the ‘Free at the Dee’ event in Aberdeen at Duthie Park, organised by Northsound Radio. Two of our new accommodation modules were transformed into backstage changing rooms for the stars, one of whom was Charlotte Church pictured here with Gary Lindsay, Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator at Ferguson Modular. The event saw the Ferguson name in front of 55,000 people in just one afternoon!

Colony Park Boy's Club New strip for Colony Park Boy’s Club

Ferguson Group has sponsored Inverurie’s Colony Park Boy’s Club (Under 15’s) football team for the 2005-2006 season. Here the first team is sporting their new strip, presented by Gary Wilson, Divisional Manager, Module Hire.
